Christian maturity is nurtured by Christian Education. Christ Church provides Christian Education and Christian Formation programs for kids, youth and adults.
10:15 am Christian Education: preschool through 5th grade
During the school year, our Christian Education programs for preschool through 5th grade meet on Sundays at 10:15 am downstairs in All Saint’s Hall. An age appropriate lesson is presented and then students join their families for communion in church.
10:30 am Nursery available for infants through 4 years old
The nursery is open during the 10:30 am service for infants and children through 4 years of age.
Preschool ages 3 and 4 - We use age-appropriate short lessons based on Bible stories that spark the interest of young children. The lessons are taught through stories, crafts and interactive play. The focus of these lessons is to introduce the children to God’s love and to familiarize them with the vocabulary and images they will hear and see in church.
Kindergarten through 5th grade - Our engaging curriculum, ‘Weaving God’s Promises,’ is created specifically for Episcopal children and youth. The program explores the Bible stories we are all familiar with but in a creative way as appropriate for each age group. The focus of these lessons is to teach our students how God’s promises of salvation are woven into our lives and to live their lives as Christ’s ambassadors.
We celebrate the seasons of the Church throughout the year with a variety of activities such as an Easter craft party and egg hunt, a Christmas party and Pageant. During the summer months, we offer a Vacation Bible School program designed specifically for the needs of the children.
Meets on the 1st and 3rd Sundays of each month, September through June at 11:45 pm to 12:45 pm Everyone in grades 6 through 12 is welcome. Feel free to bring a snack or lunch!
The Christ Church Youth Group meets twice a month for fellowship, service, and spiritual growth. Students in middle school and high school guide the program by selecting topics of discussion and service projects. The topics of discussion center on how to be a Christian in today’s world.
Members have learned to serve others by making Blessing Bags for the homeless, volunteering for the Food Pantry, and collecting needed items for the local animal shelter. They also engage in fun activities like day trips, holiday parties and cookouts throughout the year.
We recognize our youth who are graduating from high school and college each May and support our college students with care packages and cards while they are away.
